Hawaii is well known for its incredible sunrise and sunsets and beautiful year-round weather. The Hawaiian Islands are relatively small, allowing you to travel from the west side to the island's east side quickly. On the island of Kauai, the drive from the eastside to the westside is only around 50 miles. You can drive from Hilo on the east side to Kona on the west side in about 2 hours on the Big Island. For landscape photographers, this presents more opportunities to capture photos during the best light of the day on the same day with just a short drive to either side of the island they are on. Here I will show you some of my favorite places and photos I like to shoot while taking advantage of the rising or setting sun here in Hawaii.
